First Extension - April 15, 2009

I have officially had my first rod extension and it went really, really well - SO MUCH BETTER than I expected. I got to come home the evening of the same day they did the surgery. The best part is, now I won't have to dread this every 6 months when they have to extend the rods again.
Dr Oswald said that my bones were SO ready to grow that when he loosened the screws, my bones automatically stretched apart, he didn't even have to pull. I think I've "grown" about an inch or maybe two. I got some new Jonas magazines and an awesome High School Musical balloon and MORE Jonas stuff from Uncle Justin and Nonna! I'd say it was a pretty good day.

Goofy Juice!

The nurse came in to give me some "goofy juice" and in just a few minutes I had my family cracking up. I don't know why they were laughing, afterall they were the ones with two heads and four eyes. Ha! Ha!

All Done!

I was so happy that I wasn't hurting so, so bad when I got out of surgery. I was very surprised! The only thing was that my tummy was a little queasy, but I got some medicine for that and felt much better.

Krispy Kreme!

Can you believe when I left the hospital the first place I wanted to go was Krispy Kreme! I was super hungry because I had not eaten and I LOVE hot doughnuts! I got pretty tired, and didn't stay long, but they were YUMMY!!!

I'M FREE, I'M FREE

Today I went to see Dr. Oswald. I really like him and I really like Ms. Glenda. They are both really sweet. Today was the day that I found out if I was "free" or not. Yeah, I am. My mom asked Dr. Oswald if I could come out of the brace. He hesitated (just a little) and thought about it and said "yes". Thank you , Thank you Dr. Oswald. And I promise I will be very careful. I really wanted to take it home and burn it but he said we needed to save it in case we needed it again. I will be careful so I won't need it. I asked if I could ride a bike and he said "sure, but you can't fall". I went christmas shopping with my mawmaw today and I can't wait to wear my new
cute clothes without a brace.I love my new sweater ---->>> and I HATE!!!!!!!!! my UGLY! brace good bye forev :) :) :)

PRAY ABOUT MY BRACE

Hi, tomorrow I go to Dr. Oswald to see if I can take my brace off. PRAY for me that it will be time. It hasn't been very hard, but I am tired of it and it makes my clothes look ugly! I will try to understand if he says no, but I am hoping and hoping the answer will be yes. I will let everybody know tomorrow the good news or bad news. Love, Sarah

HALLOWEEN FUN

Having fun on Halloween. This is me with Emme, Olivia, Meghan, and my brother Caden. We had fun at our church. They always have trunk or treat and we go to each car to get candy. After church I went trick or treating at some houses. It was really fun and I got more candy than ever!!! Emme and Olivia came from Alabama to trick or treat and they really had fun. I really missed you Syd, my bestie and cuz!! And I really, really missed my Granddaddy. He had to be in Mexico for my cousin Amy and her orphanage. But it was a fun Halloween and really cold.

My Guitar Charm

I luv, luv, luv guitar. My teacher Rusty is teaching me the Hannah Montana Theme Song. He asked my favorite music and I told him the Jonas Brothers. Can you believe he NEVER heard of them???? But he is going to listen to them and I asked to learn Love Bug. Today my teacher did a special thing. He told me he had this guitar charm and he told me he decided I was his "perfect candidate" for him to give it to. That was so neat. I love it. I am going to put it on a necklace. Thank you, Thank you Mr. Rusty

YUMMY!!!!

Me and my cuz acting crazy as usual!! Having fun carving pumpkins

MY NEW GUITAR!!!!

I love, love, love my new guitar. I got an electric one and an amplifier. I am so excited! This is a picture at my first guitar lesson. I am taking every week and I can't wait until I can play. He said I might have to cut my fingernails. But, oh well, they will grow back. I have wanted to do this for so long and I can't believe I am really doing it. I hope I can learn fast. I loved my first lesson and learned a lot. Wish me luck!!
